Near fatal accident injures seven people in Allentown

Earlier in November, a total of seven people were injured at a downtown Allentown, Pennsylvania, intersection, when an SUV and a car collided with one another. Some of those injured suffered severe wounds in what could have easily ended up a fatal accident. Police reported that one of the people injured, a baby, might have suffered a skull fracture.

According to police, the accident happened at about 9 p.m., when a northbound SUV traveling on Eighth Street collided with a car traveling westbound on Linden Street. Of those the seven injured, five were inside the car. These individuals had to be rescued by city firefighters. Three of the five were children, with one being the 2-year-old baby who may have suffered a skull fracture. Two individuals were injured in the SUV, which police report had significant damage to its front end.

The intersection was closed to traffic as Allentown police began their investigation, which they claim will be detailed in nature. As of now, it is not known which vehicle ran a red light or how fast that vehicle may have been going. Also involved in the crash was a van, but there were no injuries reported for its occupants.

While this horrible collision did not result in a fatal accident, it may have come close. If anyone had died, the family of that person may have been able to sue for wrongful death. It is not known at this time what the baby's condition is or how the other injured parties are doing. One can only hope that all of those injured pull through and are returned to full health. While police are conducting their investigation to find who is at fault, all parties injured in the wreck may want to consult with personal injury attorneys, to find out what the possible options are.
