Pennsylvania truck accident injures sandwiched driver

Pennsylvania roadways can be crowded with trucks and cars trying to share the road. When a driver fails to obey the rules of the road and/or out state traffic laws, it can prove disastrous. A recent truck accident underscores the point. Although some accidents are unavoidable, a truck accident such as this is often avoidable simply by following the laws.

On this particular stretch of road, tractor trailers a required to use the left lane only. When the truck driver apparently failed to obey that law, he struck a concrete barrier with his front bumper and lost control. After losing control, the truck struck a car operated by a 22-year-old man. The car ultimately ended up sandwiched on its side between a concrete barrier and the tractor trailer. All traffic was halted in both directions.

The driver of the car was taken via helicopter to a local hospital. The truck driver was transported by ground to a local hospital as well. While charges are still pending, the victim could have grounds to file a civil suit. He is potentially facing mounds of medical bills, time off from work, and the pain and suffering that typically accompanies these types of tragedies.

Any Pennsylvania driver that has been involved in a truck accident knows the financial strain that can result. A victim might be best served to look into their rights under the state law to gain an understanding of their rights and responsibilities. While monetary compensation doesn't take away a person's pain and suffering, it can help protect the victim's financial future by providing funds to pay for medical bills and other injury related expenses. This may also prove beneficial for any family members that need to take care of the victim during any period of recovery.
