Home Depot neglect causes personal injury for Pennsylvania woman?

A Pennsylvania woman and her husband have filed a personal injury suit against Home Depot. A representative for Home Depot is filing to remove the case from a state civil court to the federal court as the injured woman's compensation claim is for more than the $50,000 state civil case limit. The monetary amount the couple is seeking for the personal injury claim is $100,000.

The injury claim of the woman resulted from the fall of an advertising display outside a Home Depot store. She asserts that she endured serious head and neck injuries after the display fell on her as she was walking past it. She has also reportedly suffered other types of injuries from this incident, resulting in numerous medical expenses. Her husband is additionally claiming loss of consortium in the suit.

Home Depot is accused of carelessness in how the display was secured. It was also alleged that Home Depot did not appropriately notify customers that there was a potential danger in the area. Other allegations of negligence were included as well.

Home Depot, should it be found liable for the injuries suffered by the woman and her husband, will likely be responsible for reimbursement of any medical bills, lost wages, and other damages established to the satisfaction of the court. No person who heads out for a day of shopping expects injury on the scale this woman has apparently endured. Pennsylvania residents who feel they have reason to file a personal injury claim may benefit by gaining an understanding of their rights under state and federal law.
