Pennsylvania resort the scene of a premises liability lawsuit

When going on vacation, one typically expects to have a fun, restful experience with as little distress as possible. For one Pennsylvania man, however, it did not turn out that way. He is filing a premises liability suit against a resort located in the Pocono Mountains. The premises liability claim comes after the man fell and was injured because of defective railing on the resort property. He is seeking at least $150,000 in compensation.

The man was reportedly walking down a stairway at the resort when the railing he was holding onto collapsed. This caused him to fall and break his ankle. When investigated, it was found that the railing was not attached to the wall in any way.

The plaintiff says he has had to spend a sizable amount of money for medical care due to the fall. Even though the superficial wounds may heal completely from this incident, there is a possibility that he will have permanent damage to parts of his leg. The compensation he is seeking will help repay the medical costs as well as fees owed for legal representation.

This resort was responsible for keeping its facilities as safe as possible for its guests and, in this case, that allegedly failed to happen. Pennsylvania residents who feel they have reason to file a premises liability claim may benefit by learning of their rights under state and federal law. It is hopeful this man will receive the compensation due him so that he will be able to move past this incident.
