Pennsylvania slip-and-fall accident victim requests compensation

A man who was hired for work at a Pennsylvania apartment complex has filed a suit against the owners of the complex after a slip-and-fall accident on their property. The man is an independent contractor and was employed by several residents at the complex. He claims he has endured severe injuries because of the slip-and-fall accident.

The man said he was walking in the parking lot of the complex when he slipped and fell on some black ice. At the time, he was carrying the tools he uses for his work. According to his lawsuit, his hip hit the pavement, which caused injuries to his hip and other parts of his body. He claims his injuries were severe enough that he could not work for four months and also that his future earnings potential will be reduced.

He claims that the complex management should have known about the black ice and should have ensured the safety of residents and visitors by correcting the problem. The report did not state the reparation amount he is seeking. It is assumed to be enough to cover damages, the $24,000 he claimed in lost wages for the time he was unable to work after the incident and other fees.

A slip-and-fall accident can cause anything from minor physical damage to more severe harm that requires surgical repairs. Pennsylvania residents who have sustained injuries on property belonging to other people who have been negligent can seek compensation for medical expenses, legal fees and other types of suffering. Examining the state laws will aid in filing a claim, as each state differs in how victims of these types of incidents are financially rewarded.
