Bicycle accident leaves cyclist with leg fracture and head injury

A bicycle and car accident has left one cyclist with serious leg injuries. The driver of the motor vehicle that hit the man remains at large and police are struggling to locate him. Although this bicycle accident occurred in a neighboring state, the essential issues relating to the crash are the same as they would be in Pennsylvania and the hit-and-run driver must be located and identified in order for the injured cyclist to pursue restitution for his injuries under the law.

According to authorities, the accident happened while the 40-year-old bicyclist was riding his bike on a recent Sunday evening. Police say that the man was struck by an unidentified individual in a Mercedes Sprinter just prior to 10 p.m. Although the driver of the vehicle stopped briefly, he ultimately sped away, fleeing the accident scene.

As a result of the collision, the cyclist suffered a severe head injury and a broken leg, for which he required medical treatment at a local hospital. As of May 12, he was listed to be in critical condition. One eyewitness who arrived on scene following the crash reported that the cyclist was unresponsive following the incident. He said that he heard the noise of the collision and saw a black vehicle running someone over. The man was not wearing any kind of head protection, which may have caused his injuries to be even more severe.

It is crucial for eyewitnesses to come forward following a hit-and-run bicycle accident in Pennsylvania so that individuals who were harmed can seek legal claims against the person responsible. Indeed, through a successfully navigated personal injury case, financial restitution may be sought to help pay for medical care, property damage and other costs arising from a tragic motor vehicle crash.
