Pennsylvania grown apples recalled due to listeria contamination

Residents in Pennsylvania often purchase their groceries at local store chains or farmer's markets. This frequent task does not often include the thought that the food items that are being purchased could harm them. While it is likely that the food that is bought at the grocery store or other food distributor is perfectly fine, if an item is contaminated, it could be considered a dangerous product and cause great harm or even death to a consumer.

A product recall has been recently issued regarding specific apples that were used to produce caramel apples. Reports indicate that a voluntary fresh cut fruit that contained Gala red apples grown in Pennsylvania occurred after it was discovered they were contaminated with Listeria.

The contamination was traced back to Bidart Brothers and those who are directly or indirectly supplied by this company have announced a recall of any commercially produced, prepackaged whole caramel apples. If this product is consumed, it could result in a serious illness; those affected by this recall should understand their rights.

Those harmed by a dangerous product could file a product liability claim. This cause of action could hold a manufacturer liable for the injuries or death caused by their dangerous or defective product. In addition, it could provide the injured or impacted consumer with compensation, which could be used to cover costs associated with the losses and damages linked to the incident.

Consumer injury is often an unexpected event that could cause a consumer to suffer greatly. In these matters, it is important that a consumer and their loved ones understand how to address the issues and what legal remedies are available to them. This will help protect their rights and interests while the injured party determines the appropriate action and steps to take.
