Pennsylvania turnpike multi-car crash involves overturned truck

Being involved in a collision is often a serious event. When a crash involves a large vehicle such as a semi-truck, it is likely that the accident will involve multiple vehicles, resulting in a massive accident site. A truck crash not only impacts those directly involved, but also affects numerous travelers on the roadway. When a crash involves an overturned truck, this often means a huge clean up and a large investigation site. Road closures help with the investigation process, helping those harmed in the incident better understand the cause and liability in the crash.

Authorities in Pennsylvania were recently dispatched to a multi-vehicle truck accident that involved an overturned truck. According to preliminary reports, the crash involved five vehicles and occurred in the westbound lane of the Pennsylvania Turnpike near the Route 1 Exit. The road was closed for over an hour while emergency crews tended to the victims. Crews pushed the overturned truck upright, the four other vehicles were cleared away and an oil spill was cleaned up.

Emergency crews reported that one person involved in the crash suffered non-deadly injuries. No other injuries were reported. The cause of the crash is not clear at this time, and no charges have been filed against anyone involved in the collisions. Once the investigation is complete, authorities should be able to discern what caused the crash and who was at fault.

When the negligence or recklessness of a driver causes a crash, he or she could be responsible for the injuries and damages caused by the incident. Victims of a truck accident should take the time to understand the rights and options afforded to them. Seeking legal guidance could help victims and their loved ones take appropriate steps to protect his or her rights and options.
