Pennsylvania truck accident leaves police chief injured

Pennsylvania police officers are investigating a crash that involved a police car and a truck delivering propane tanks. The truck accident happened mid-morning and ended with the police car in a nearby flower bed. A police chief was behind the wheel of the police department vehicle when the accident occurred.

The truck accident occurred when the police vehicle was traveling eastbound on Bristol Road. The delivery truck carrying a load of propane tanks was heading northbound on Jacksonville. For reasons that are unclear at this time, the propane delivery truck collided with the police vehicle sending it careening off the roadway and into a nearby flower bed.

Witnesses report that the police vehicle had the green light at the intersection where the crash occurred. The propane delivery truck turned on its side during the truck accident. Luckily, none of the propane gas tanks burst or leaked before being removed by authorities.

The truck accident ended with the police chief being taken to the hospital with head injuries of an unknown severity. The driver of the truck sustained only minor injuries. It is unclear how long it will take the injured police chief to recover or if he will be able to return to his duties in the near future.

Police continue to investigate this Pennsylvania truck accident and as they do, they will work to determine exactly why the propane delivery truck struck the police vehicle. These answers may be a comfort to the injured man who was the victim of this unfortunate crash. It is unclear whether the police chief was on duty at the time of the accident.

Regardless of whether criminal charges are filed, those who are injured by a negligent truck driver can seek compensation through civil litigation. Damages won in a civil suit can help a victim pay for heavy medical bills, lost wages and other costs associated with the collision.
