Personal Injury claim against popular Philadelphia attraction

Halloween can be an exciting time of year for a lot of people, especially when a haunted house is set up in the eerie surroundings of a former hospital for mentally ill patients. One man, however, is filing a personal injury suit against the people who transform a Pennsylvania property into spooky entertainment in the fall. His personal injury suit is against the three different corporations that sponsor the annual haunted house.

The victim asserts that his leg was injured while he was waiting to walk through one of the indoor attractions. He claims that two members of the haunted house staff caused a hospital bed to be pushed into his knee. The resulting damage was serious enough for the victim to require surgery on his knee. His complaint was that the employees were acting recklessly and irresponsibly, therefore causing the injury.

The injured man has reported that he has endured emotional and financial suffering. The pain he has suffered has been debilitating at time. He is seeking over $75,000 in compensation for various costs incurred since the incident, which occurred nearly two years ago.

There has been some debate, although not from personal injury, of this property being operated as a Halloween pastime. As a mental institution, there were claims of abuse and neglect of the patients residing there, as well as the unsanitary and unsafe conditions of the building itself, and it was finally shut down in 1986. The Pennsylvania property is also popular among those who explore paranormal activity. While it remains to be seen what the result of the man's allegations will be, those injured through the negligent acts of other parties have the right to pursue claims for reimbursement of monetary damages sustained.
