Man injured on someone else's property wins Pennsylvania case

A man was seriously injured on someone else’s property and was awarded over $670,000 by a jury. He had been a guest at a Pennsylvania theme park when he was hurt on a park water slide. The jury determined the park was mostly at fault for this man being injured on someone else's property.

The plaintiff was going down the water slide on an inner tube when his foot got caught between the tube and the slide. At the time, he was wearing aqua socks and the material of the socks caused some resistance, which did not allow him to go down the slide smoothly. The result was a spiral fracture of his right ankle.

The man says no one overseeing the ride warned him of possible injury while wearing the socks on the slide. The injury has necessitated repeated medical attention and he has been told he may require surgery to replace the damaged ankle. He has not been able to keep a steady job since the incident.

Because he was injured on someone else's property, this man had the right to seek financial compensation from the theme park to pay for any costs he had incurred as a result of the injury. This included medical and legal costs, as well as wages he did not earn because he had not been able to work. While it may not be this large an award amount, for those in Pennsylvania facing similar circumstances, filing a lawsuit may bring about a favorable outcome to a distressing situation.
