Woman hurt on slippery floors files federal suit in Pennsylvania

A lawsuit has been filed in the by a Pennsylvania woman who says she fell due to slippery floors. The federal lawsuit comes after a stay in a Trump Plaza hotel where the injury occurred. She claims the injuries she received when she fell on slippery floors in her hotel bathroom will be permanent and seeks restitution of over $50,000.

According to the plaintiff, there was a leak in a bathroom fixture. That leak caused the floor to be slick, and she slipped and fell when she stepped into the bathroom. She was pregnant at the time, and she claims repercussions from the fall caused problems throughout the rest of her pregnancy and during her delivery. She also continues to suffer from back pain nearly two years after the fall.

When the plaintiff checked into the hotel, located on the New Jersey Boardwalk, she was not expecting to have to worry about physical harm. She asserts that the hotel was negligent in not inspecting the room to ensure it was safe during her stay. She furthermore claims that the staff of this hotel did not do all it could to warn her of the hazard. Financial compensation she is requesting in the suit is intended to pay medical costs related to treating her injuries, as well as other financial losses recognized by applicable laws.

Injuries occur all the time, but when they happen because of the negligence of others, a lawsuit can be filed against those deemed responsible to pursue reimbursement for costs and other damages related to the injury. The court in this suit will have to determine if the slippery floors in the bath area were the result of negligence on the part of the hotel. Those in Pennsylvania who have experienced similar circumstances have the right to seek compensation through a legal avenue.
