Pennsylvania man files suit against driver over truck injury

A lawsuit has been filed in federal court over a truck injury that occurred at a Pennsylvania business. The plaintiff says the truck injury followed an incident that caused the truck driver to be in a state of anger when he got behind the wheel. The suit claims several counts of negligence on the part of the truck driver and the company for which he works.

The plaintiff, who worked as a security guard, and the truck driver, who was a driver for a delivery service, apparently began arguing over an unspecified matter at the plaintiff’s place of business. According to the suit, the verbal disagreement became physical and the plaintiff was hurt. As he was trying to get the truck’s vehicle registration information, the driver got in the truck, put it in drive and hit the plaintiff.

Several parts of the plaintiff’s body were injured, for which he has had to seek treatment in the form of numerous trips to doctors and hospitals. Not only has he had to pay for each visit, he has not been able to earn his usual salary because he has been too injured to work in a normal capacity. He is requesting over $75,000 in financial compensation for not only the physical damage he suffered, but also the emotional damage he feels was inflicted.

In the case of this truck injury, the plaintiff felt the driver’s behavior was uncalled for and that his employer should never have hired someone who had the anger issues this man seemed to have. When a person is hurt from the intentional actions of another, financial compensation can be sought. Those in Pennsylvania who have had a similar experience have the same right to recoup monies spent on medical and legal costs as well as for wages lost from the inability to work while injured.
