Woman files suit for slip-and-fall accident at Pennsylvania store

A Pennsylvania woman has filed a suit against the owners of a convenience store after a slip-and-fall accident on the store’s property. She alleges that the slip-and-fall accident caused significant injury and possible permanent damage. She is asking for over $50,000 in compensation.

The plaintiff asserts that her injury occurred when she had stopped at the convenience store and was walking in the area of the gas pumps. She stepped on some ice that was on the ground, and her feet flew out from under her. A report on the incident did not mention specific injuries but did state they were severe enough that she may have to endure persistent pain for years to come.

Not only has the woman apparently accumulated excessive medical bills from her treatments, she says that she is in too much pain to maintain steady employment. As a result, she is not able to earn the money she needs to pay those bills. She claims that the managers and employees were negligent in not ensuring their property was safe for their customers, nor did they post warnings about potential hazards in their area.

If the employees of this convenience store are found to be negligent in this slip-and-fall accident, the owning entity may be required to pay this woman part or all of the compensation she is seeking. In Pennsylvania, there are specific requirements needed to file a lawsuit of this type. Any person who has been injured has the right to request reimbursement for physical and emotional suffering due to the negligence of another.
