Truck accident on Pennsylvania interstate seriously injures man

A lawsuit has been filed by a man who says he was seriously injured in a truck accident on a Pennsylvania highway. Three truck companies and truck drivers, along with a fourth person, were named as defendants in the suit. The man says his injuries from the truck accident are permanent and have negatively impacted his future earning potential.

The three commercial trucks, a pickup truck and the plaintiff in his personal vehicle were each driving along an interstate highway that was covered in ice and snow when one of the truck drivers purportedly lost control of his truck. The truck skidded and came to a stop at an angle that was blocking the interstate. This began a domino effect when the second truck was not able to stop in time to avoid hitting the first truck, with the pickup truck and the plaintiff following soon after.

The plaintiff says the third truck driver was not able to control his truck and, although he was not physically involved in the crash, that action was enough to distract the drivers of the other two trucks. He also claims all other drivers involved were driving too fast for the icy conditions of the road. Since the accident, he has had to deal with various effects from the brain injury he says he experienced in the crash.

The injuries from this truck accident have required continuous medical care and the plaintiff is requesting over $50,000 from each defendant. His wife is also requesting over $50,000 in compensation from each defendant for her claims of loss of consortium. In Pennsylvania, it is the right of those who have been injured because of the negligence of another party to seek financial compensation to help pay for the numerous costs associated with an occurrence of this type.
